Jose Asturias Model 100
(his top of the line concert classical)
SOLID BRAZILIAN back and sides. Jose Asturias is generally regarded
as the greatest Argentine guitar maker ever--and thus one of the
very best (if not the best) from South America, as Argentina has
by far the most distinguished history in regard to the classical
guitar.
Also note: Not
to be confused with the Japanese line of guitars which has taken
his name.
Exquisitely
detailed throughout--the photos look great; the real thing looks
even better. Standard scale/fret width [650/52]. All solid wood,
of course: Jacaranda body and headstock face, cedar top, ebony fretboard
and bridge (highly unusual), ebony re-enforced mahogany neck is
true and plays like a dream. Gold-plated tuners, lacquer finish,
deluxe binding.
And a sound
to match the looks: full, firm basses, bell-like trebles, good volume/sustain
but not a cannon--a guitar of refinement, warmth and nuance.
Comes with brand
new deluxe hardshell case.
