Kathryn Lambert Bio

Kathryn Lambert began her classical guitar studies at the age of 6 under the direction of Polly Maynard-Watson of the Childbloom Guitar Program in Denton, Texas. She attended the Houston Classical Minds Festival at the age of 14, competed in an open level competition, participated in a masterclass with Randall Avers, and received private lessons with Isaac Bustos and Angleo Favis. During high school she competed in the Texas UIL Solo and Ensemble competition, and received superior ratings at both state and regional levels each year. In 2017 Kathryn again competed in the Houston Classical Minds Competition and advanced to the semifinals. Mrs. Lambert received her Bachelor's in Guitar Performance from the University of South Carolina under the direction of Christopher Berg. During her attendance she was given the Christopher Berg guitar award and performed for events hosted by University President Harris Pastides. In 2016 Kathryn was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Clare Callahan. She has participated in masterclasses with GFA winner Thibaut Garcia, Oscar Ghiglia, GFA President Dr. Martha Masters, and Aniello Desiderio. She currently resides in Phoenix, AZ, where she directs a middle school guitar program and performs locally with her husband and duo partner Colin Lambert.
