Marin Plazuelo is the nephew of the famous luthier, Antonio Marin, and has recently been gaining quite a bit of fame on his own. He and his uncle share a small workshop in Granada, Spain where they build some
of the world's finest guitars.
This guitar
is a great example of why this maker's guitars now sell for well
over $6,000. Workmanship, materials, and attention to details are
all absolutely exquisite, second to none.
Top is tight
German spruce; the back and sides are stunning slab-cut Brazilian;
fretboard is ebony, neck Spanish cedar.
This guitar
sings throughout all registers. Sound is full, agressive, rich,
loud and VERY Spanish; great sustain.
Basses are defined but have real clout; trebles are concentrated
and lush. Overall, tone is complex, having tremendous color and
nuance.
Condition is
near mint. Notice, finally, the Sloan arabesque machines: These
are not standard on most of his guitars. Clearly, this guitar was
built for the serious concert performer.
This guitar is no longer available.
