SN Nylon Mellow yet sonorous. Warmer, more traditional sound without excessive brightness.
QZ Nylon Mellow and round. Lyrical trebles that soften the brilliance of the basses.
String Lines
ACTIVES (ADC / ADN / ADQ) Knobloch's signature line. Maximum projection, brilliant clarity, impressive durability. Available with Carbon, SN Nylon or QZ Nylon trebles.
ERITHACUS (EDC / EDQ) Natural, warm and round sound. Warmer than Actives with extra treble elasticity. Available with Carbon or QZ Nylon trebles.
Reading the set number The letters tell you the line and treble (A = Actives, E = Erithacus; C = Carbon, N = SN Nylon, Q = QZ Nylon). The number is the tension rating. Older three-digit numbers (300, 400, 500, 600) are shown in parentheses.
Tension Guide
Medium-Low (33.0) Easiest playability, reduced finger fatigue, softer attack.
Medium (33.5) Balanced feel, comfortable for most players.
Medium-High (34.0) More projection, slightly firmer feel.
High (34.5) Maximum volume and sustain, best for concert performance.
Extra High (35.5) & Super-High (36.0) For players and instruments that want the most tension available: large-bodied guitars, very low action, or a driving right hand.
