The Savarez 500CR Corum Cristal (red card) is the normal tension set with Cristal clear nylon trebles and Corum basses. Cristal trebles have the warm, rounded character of traditional nylon with good clarity, and the silver-plated Corum basses on a multifilament Stabilon core give an even, clear low register. Normal tension makes the set comfortable on any standard classical guitar and a safe choice for lighter-built instruments.
Savarez has made strings in Lyon, France, since 1770 and pioneered the fluorocarbon treble with its Alliance line; its sets are color-coded by card: red for normal tension, blue for high, yellow for extra high. The 500CJ is the high tension version.
