This support will work on guitars between 80mm and 113mm wide.
Far more reliable than suction cups, used by other brands' guitar support, the Woodside Support's grippers firmly grasp the edge of the instrument. The Woodside Support's unique (patent applied for) pivoting system compensates for any guitar body depth variation, and grips at all four points equally.
The GS4 utilizes a locking ball and socket mechanism to attach the support pillar to the clamping cradle. This gives the player the freedom to set up whatever angle they choose between the clamping cradle and the leg rest.
To stow the GS4, simply unscrew the adjuster wheel to remove the support pillar, fold it down, and you're ready to pack your GS4 into a guitar case and hit the road. The GS4 is made using only premium materials and built to last a lifetime.
The GS4-Pro has the same great features as the GS-4 LEV, in a professional version.

Woodside's Exclusive Flip-Lock Mechanism
Once adjusted for a specific guitar, attaching and detaching is a "snap"! No more fumbling around with suction cups or twisting screws endlessly - attaches and detaches in mere seconds! Quick, convenient, and reliable.
Woodside's Unique Pivoting-Gripper System
A casual observation of the cradle gripping system suggests that the grippers are parallel to one another, and likewise the top and back of the guitar are parallel.
But in actual real-world use, any manufactured product - even the guitar itself, as well as the guitar support - Mill have minor differences in the span between the two different pairs of grippers.
Our sophisticated system allows the Grippers to "float" - providing superior gripping strength minimal pressure.
This also allows the Woodside system to work elevated fingerboard guitars and other non-parallel top/back instruments.
Woodside's Ball & Socket Cradle Mount
Allows precise and versatile positioning options - "Set it and Forget It"
Another innovation exclusive to the Woodside, and yet essential in providing the most intimacy and personalized positioning, is the ball & socket mount between the cradle and support pillar.
Providing 0-130 off neutral position in any axis. the guitar can be angled in countless configurations. Once the player's comfort zone is found, simply lock the retaining cup and the position will be held for the next session - even if the support is removed from the guitar.
New - Exclusive to "Pro" - Professional Grade Locking Collar
The new, professional glade locking collar is ultra precise, and extremely stable. Building upon the Woodside flexibility such as the freedom of rotation while playing the guitar - and adding even more stability to the support is the "Pro" Locking Collar System.
Also, the newly designed collar extenders make large height adjustments even easier and more convenient.
Like never before, flexibility and stability come together.
The Woodside brings the guitar and guitar player ever closer, enabling the player to achieve their full artistic potential.

Comprehensive Review: The Woodside Guitar Support GS4---PRO – A Masterpiece of Engineering at the Ceiling of Mass Production
The Background: A Graveyard of Gear
As a guitarist dedicated to finding a healthy, tension-free playing position, I have bought and tested virtually every guitar support type on the market. My personal graveyard of gear includes two Barnetts, an Umbra, every single iteration of the ErgoPlay, both large and small Dynarette cushions, and various other suction-cup devices. Over the years, I’ve realized that the Western classical tradition of left-leg positioning doesn't work for my body. Instead, I align more with Brazilian and Flamenco virtuosos who rest the lower bout of the instrument on the right leg, using the right arm for leverage.
The challenge with the right-leg position is stability. Without a support, you must constantly maintain control over the axis of the guitar to keep it from swinging, which robs the left hand of total freedom. For years, I found no device that could bridge this gap—until the Woodside Pro.
The Praise: An Engineering Marvel
Let’s be clear: the Woodside Pro is the absolute best mass-market solution I have found. The sheer amount of thought and engineering that went into this device is deeply impressive. In the best possible sense of the word, it is a brilliant contraption. It features a multitude of moving parts, superb adaptability, and different lengths of rods. They really thought this out.
By utilizing the Pro model's more extreme plate angle and a longer rod, I am finally able to anchor the clamp to the guitar body but send the actual support down to my right leg. This combination gives me the mechanical stability of a fixed support while preserving the natural, right-leg playing posture I prefer. It offers an exceptional level of multidirectional mobility that static cushions or rigid suction cups simply cannot replicate.
The Critique: Where the Clamps Fall Short
However, because it is a mass-produced item trying to fit every guitar and player, it highlights a structural limitation in the clamp design.
The jaw mechanics require a relatively flat area of the guitar body to secure a reliable grip. My ideal placement for the support is right in the tightest part of the waist—the dip of the guitar body. Unfortunately, the current grip design lacks the contouring or specialized grip modification needed to hold onto that curved area securely. Because it slips there, I am forced to slide the clamp further out to a flatter section of the bout. In essence, I have to position the device where it fits, rather than where I actually need it to be.
The Grand Vision: The Future of Guitar Ergonomics
Living with the Woodside Pro has crystallized a major philosophical flaw in the entire support industry: guitarists are constantly being forced to adapt to the support, whereas the support should adapt to the guitarist.
The Woodside Pro represents the absolute ceiling of what a standardized, mechanical retail product can achieve. But true ergonomic perfection will require the industry to shift toward technology-driven customization.
Imagine a future where a smart company uses AI computer vision to analyze a guitarist holding their instrument in a perfectly natural, tension-free position. From those multi-angle photos, a bespoke support is engineered and 3D-printed or precision-machined specifically for that player’s unique anatomy. Furthermore, instead of external clamps, high-end luthiery could integrate internal magnetic mounts (similar to the Barnett concept) or a flush, luthier-installed receptacle in the side of the guitar where a custom-machined support seamlessly snaps in and out with a push-button release.
Final Verdict
If you are tired of suction cups failing and cushions shifting, the Woodside Pro is a triumph of design. It is highly adaptable, incredibly well thought out, and it is the only device that has successfully allowed me to lock in a stable right-leg playing position. It is a premium, commendable piece of gear. However, until the industry embraces bespoke, on-demand manufacturing, even the best "contraptions" will require a minor compromise.
Rating: 4.5 / 5
I have a short scale classical guitar and wanted to ditch the foot stool and could not use suction cups. I can't believe how easy and quick it was to find the perfect neck angle and height that works perfect for me. The design is brilliant and it goes on and comes off with ease. The GS4-Pro package comes complete with all the necessary options you would need to get a lower, higher height or normal or steeper neck angle - would definitely recommend.
