Hanika Natural PC Classical Guitar — German Craftsmanship with a Cedar Voice
The Hanika Natural PC is a concert-line classical guitar built in Germany from select solid tonewoods. It pairs a Grade 2 cedar soundboard with Grade 2 east Indian rosewood back and sides — a pairing prized for its warmth and immediacy. The thin cedar top gives the Natural PC a quick, confident attack with a full sound and a crisp, clear tone, while attack and sustain stay well balanced against each other. The result is an instrument that responds naturally to many styles of playing, from lyrical melodic lines to more percussive, rhythmic work.
The Natural Finish: A Thin Sealing for Open, Transparent Sound
The defining feature of this guitar is Hanika's "Natural" finish. In place of a traditional thick lacquer, the Natural PC uses a very thin varnish and wax sealing. This lighter treatment leaves the soundboard freer to vibrate, which contributes to the guitar's particularly open and transparent sound character. The thin sealing also makes the finish less sensitive to the everyday stresses an instrument encounters when it's actually being played, so the guitar wears its use gracefully rather than showing every mark.
Solid Tonewoods and Traditional Fan Bracing
East Indian rosewood is one of the most versatile tonewoods in guitar building, and combined with the cedar soundboard it gives the Natural PC richness across the frequency range with clear note separation. The flat soundboard is supported by asymmetrical fivefold fan bracing in the Spanish tradition, tuned to balance projection with tonal depth. The cedro neck is laminated throughout with hardwood for stability, and the African blackwood fretboard, rosewood bridge, and triple-layer rosewood-maple-rosewood head plates reflect the level of material quality Hanika builds into this model.
Professionally Set Up by XGuitars
Every classical guitar we carry is personally inspected and set up by XGuitars owner Geoff Ferdón, a classical and flamenco guitarist with a performance degree and decades in the trade. That means the action, intonation, and overall playability are dialed in and verified before the Natural PC ships to you — the kind of hands-on attention a concert-level instrument deserves. The guitar includes its Hanika-Hiscox hard case for secure transport and storage.
