CONCERT LINE: Natural PF Custom

NOTE: The "Custom" part of this guitar is that it has grade 3 rosewood instead of grade 2. This is a lower grade.  Also, the tuning machines are more standard.  This is why this guitars is $500 less expensive than the standard Natural PF. 

This guitar is absolutely incredible.  It's tone and workmanship are top notch and rival guitars worth $6,000 or more.

The back and sides made from high-quality east Indian rosewood with a soundboard made from outstanding spruce wood. Rosewood is considered to be one of the most universal tonewoods for guitars and in conjunction with the thin spruce-wood soundboard, the Natural PF achieves a very good attack with a full sound and crisp tone. Attack and sustain on this guitar are well balanced with each other. This means that it responds well to many styles of playing.

The HANIKA ‘NATURAL’ finish is a special feature on this guitar. This very thin varnish / wax sealing makes the finish less sensitive to the stresses that typically occur when the instrument is played. The thin sealing helps produce a particularly open and transparent sound.

Made from select solid tonewoods, this guitar comes with a flat soundboard with asymmetrical fivefold fan bracing The gold-coloured bushed tuning machines with ebony pegs, the cedro neck laminated throughout with the best hardwood, the high-quality African blackwood fretboard and triple-layer rosewood-maple-rosewood head plate underline the Natural PF's high quality.

IMPORTANT: This guitar features a 12-hole bridge.  This design puts the strings at a higher angle relative to the saddle, allowing a greater transfer of energy into the top of the guitar at the saddle.  This gives this guitar extra volume and resonance.  It is very important that the strings are tied properly to prevent slipping.  For instructions on how to tie the strings, please see CLICK HERE.

Hanika Natural PF Classical Guitar — German Craftsmanship with a Natural Finish

The Hanika Natural PF is a concert-line classical guitar built in Germany using select solid tonewoods throughout. It pairs a Grade 2 spruce soundboard with Grade 2 east Indian rosewood back and sides — a classic combination known for producing a full, balanced sound with clear articulation and strong projection.

What sets this guitar apart is Hanika's "Natural" finish. Rather than a traditional thick lacquer, the Natural PF uses a very thin varnish and wax sealing that allows the tonewoods to vibrate more freely. The result is a noticeably open and transparent sound character that responds well across a range of playing styles, from lyrical legato passages to aggressive rasgueados.

12-Hole Bridge Design for Enhanced Volume and Resonance

The Natural PF features Hanika's 12-hole bridge, which positions the strings at a steeper angle over the saddle. This increased break angle transfers more energy directly into the spruce soundboard, giving the guitar added volume and resonance compared to a standard 6-hole bridge. It's an important design detail that contributes meaningfully to the instrument's projection and tonal richness. Note that strings must be tied carefully to prevent slipping — Hanika provides instructions for the proper technique.

The Natural PF reflects careful material selection at every point. The African blackwood fretboard, rosewood bridge, and triple-layer rosewood-maple-rosewood headplate all speak to the level of construction found across Hanika's concert line. Owner Geoff Ferdón personally inspects and sets up each instrument, checking action height, intonation, neck relief, fret ends, tuning machines, and finish quality. All instruments are stored in a climate-controlled environment at proper humidity and temperature levels to protect against hidden damage.
