Ibanez Premium S1070PBZ Electric Guitar - Cerulean Blue Burst
The Ibanez S series has always been defined by its body — dramatically thinner than a typical solidbody, sculpted to sit against the player rather than push away from them. The Premium S1070PBZ takes that platform and builds it out with an unusually deep stack of exotic tonewoods, producing an instrument that is as distinctive acoustically as it is visually.
A Layered Tonewood Construction
The top alone is a five-piece assembly of poplar burl, walnut, curly maple, and panga panga, sitting over an African mahogany body. Each layer contributes something different — the mahogany brings warmth and sustain, the harder laminates add attack and definition at the top of the stack. The neck continues the theme with an eleven-piece construction of panga panga, maple, walnut, and bubinga, which produces exceptional rigidity and a response that stays even across the entire fretboard. The rosewood fingerboard rounds it out with a smooth feel and balanced midrange.
Versatility Through the HSH Layout
Two humbuckers flank a single-coil, routed through a five-way selector that opens a wide array of tonal positions — full humbucker output at either end, split and blended voicings in between. Combined with the S series' naturally resonant thin body, the S1070PBZ covers considerably more ground than its aggressive appearance suggests, which is part of why the S line has retained a following among players who need one guitar to handle a varied set.
The S Series Body
The thin, deeply contoured mahogany body is the reason many players choose an S over an RG. It reduces weight noticeably over a long set, and the sculpted profile brings the instrument closer to the body for a more natural playing position. Cerulean Blue Burst brings out the figure in the poplar burl top, with the grain reading differently on every individual instrument.
