Ibanez TOD10 Tim Henson Signature Electric Guitar - Classic Silver
Tim Henson's playing with Polyphia moves between trap-influenced rhythmic figures, fingerstyle passages, and technical lead work, often within a single piece. The TOD10 is built for that range rather than for one corner of it — a Premium-line instrument on the AZ platform with a specification aimed squarely at players whose demands change bar to bar.
Neck and Fretboard
The roasted maple neck uses Ibanez's AZ Oval C profile — rounder and more substantial than a Wizard, which suits fingerstyle and chord work better than an ultra-thin shred profile while remaining fast. Roasting the maple improves stability and gives the neck a distinctly smooth, broken-in feel from the first play. The 24-fret ebony fingerboard carries a 12-inch radius and stainless steel frets, which resist wear far longer than nickel silver and make bends feel notably slicker. Luminescent side dots keep position readable in low light.
Fishman Fluence Signature Pickups
The TOD10 carries Tim Henson's signature multi-voice Fishman Fluence humbuckers, mounted directly to the body. Fluence pickups use printed coils rather than traditional wound ones, producing consistent output with no hum and — more usefully here — multiple selectable voices per pickup. The range runs from clean, articulate tones suited to fingerstyle passages through to high-output grind, which is the practical requirement for the material this instrument was designed around.
Hardware and Appointments
A Gotoh T1502 two-point synchronized tremolo handles bends and dives with reliable intonation return, backed by a Graph Tech nut and Gotoh locking tuners for tuning stability. The acrylic and abalone Tree of Death inlay — carried over from Henson's TOD10N nylon-string signature — runs the length of the fingerboard and is the instrument's defining visual feature. An angled output jack rounds out a thoughtfully considered build.
