Jose Ramirez 1A Classical Guitar built in 1980 by Juan Garcia (Luthier #9)

Amid the 'golden era' under the leadership of Jose Ramirez III at the Ramirez workshop on Concepcion Jeronima No. 2 in Madrid, Spain, the Ramirez 1a Concert Classical guitar boasts remarkable condition for its age. With a lengthy scale of 664mm, it caters to the discerning professional concert performer by offering enhanced volume and projection.

Under the guidance of Jose Ramirez III, this Concert Classical Guitar employs the Spanish Heel construction method. This traditional approach, influential for numerous builders, seamlessly integrates the sides and neck to maximize resonance and responsiveness.

In terms of construction materials, the Ramirez 1a Concert Classical Guitar adopts the Red Cedar top pioneered by Jose Ramirez III, complemented by a beautiful ensemble of Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, head plate, and bridge.

The neck, made of Cedro or Spanish Cedar (Cedrela Odorata), hails from Central and South America, closely resembling Mahogany. The fingerboard is crafted from Ebony, while a black stripe on the back of the neck consists of an Ebony strip, enhancing the neck's stiffness. Unlike some instruments, this guitar lacks an adjustable metal truss rod.

While displaying minor signs of wear and tear, this guitar is overall in excellent condition for its vintage. There are two hairline cracks that are of no structural consequence.  These could be stabilized for an additional $250, if desired.
