Description

Ramirez Estudio 140 Spruce Top Classical Guitar

The Ramirez Estudio 140 Spruce Top Classical Guitar continues the distinguished legacy of the Ramirez name, known worldwide for exceptional classical guitar craftsmanship. The Estudio 140 is the latest version of the very popular Ramirez Estudio 3 model. The 140 Spruce exemplifies the perfect balance between traditional Spanish guitar-making techniques and tonewoods selected for their superior acoustic properties.

Premium Tonewoods

The Estudio 140 features a solid spruce top that delivers exceptional clarity, projection, and articulation. Spruce responds beautifully to various playing techniques, offering crisp note definition and excellent dynamic range. Paired with Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar produces a bright, focused sound with impressive sustain and harmonic complexity.

Classic Ramirez Construction

Built in the authentic Spanish tradition, the Estudio 140 showcases the meticulous attention to detail that has defined Ramirez guitars for generations. The protective polyurethane finish enhances the natural beauty of the wood while allowing the soundboard to vibrate freely. The traditional fan bracing pattern optimizes the tonal characteristics of the spruce top, resulting in a responsive instrument with excellent projection and balance across all registers.

Exceptional Playability

The traditional Spanish neck profile and carefully crafted fingerboard ensure comfortable playing for extended practice sessions or performances. The neck dimensions provide both comfort and stability, making this instrument accessible to advancing students while meeting the demands of experienced performers.

Professional Setup

Every Ramirez Estudio 140 at XGuitars undergoes a comprehensive professional setup. Owner Geoff Ferdón personally inspects and sets up each instrument, meticulously adjusting string height, intonation, and playability to exacting standards. This personalized attention ensures that your instrument performs at its optimal level.

Perfect for Classical Repertoire

The Ramirez Estudio 140 with spruce top excels in classical repertoire where clarity and definition are paramount. Its responsive nature allows for nuanced expression and tonal coloration, making it an excellent choice for both conservatory students and performing musicians. The bright, focused character of spruce makes this instrument particularly well-suited for ensemble playing where projection is essential.

IMPORTANT: This guitar features a 12-hole bridge.  This design puts the strings at a higher angle relative to the saddle, allowing a greater transfer of energy into the top of the guitar at the saddle.  This gives this guitar extra volume and resonance.  It is very important that the strings are tied properly to prevent slipping.  For instructions on how to tie the strings, please see the video below:
