I was happy to be able to upgrade my tuners on my recent purchase of a Ramirez Guitarra Del tiempo. I'm sure the tuners that were originally installed are of good quality, but the Schaller Grand Lyra tuners are quite pleasing to the eye and touch. They are reasonably priced and I am glad I made that choice.
Just had them installed onto my Ramirezdel Tiempo and I LOVE THEM! Why?
First and least of all, they look beautiful and required only a minor adjustment during installation,
Second, they are very easy to turn and the precision reached is as perfect as I think it can be! What a difference from the Chinese Ping tuners that came with the guitar, which were hard to turn and difficult to get great tuning!
Geoff, as usual was extremely helpful. I asked him if he thought these tuners were good for my del Tiempo or if he had an alternate suggestion. He agreed these would work well.
Another comment related to the del Tiempo; it is a beautiful instrument well worth it's weight in gold. I was told by my luthier that he had a $10,000 guitar that didn't sound very different from the del Tiempo.
Hope this helps those of you looking at the Schaller tuners or even the Ramirez del Tiempo. Both AWESOME!

I recently acquired a beautiful 1970 Garcia Grade 1 classical guitar. Unfortunately the tuners were in bad condition and could barely be turned by hand. I searched extensively for a replacement that was of high quality that wouldn't break the bank. Schaller Grand Tune tuners are the answer. Aesthetically pleasing and extremely well engineered and at a price point well below comparable tuners on the market.
I was frustrated however trying to find a dealer in the continental US that I could order them from directly ( I hate giving out my credit card information to anyone in a foreign country). Fortunately I found XGuitars. They didn't have the exact model I wanted in stock but placed an order directly from the manufacturer in Germany. Geoff personally kept me posted on the progress of my order every step of the way.
I will be coming back to XGuitars for all my music purchases.

I bought this tuning machine after Geoff recommended it. I was looking for good quality tuners to replace the cheap Ping machines that came with my Ramirez del Tiempo. I did the upgrade myself and couldn’t be happier. Now my del Tiempo is just perfect: tuning action is smooth and the strings seem to stay in tune longer. By the way, also following Geoff advice, I bought the Savarez 540J strings and they do make my del Tiempo sound like a concert guitar.
