Description

The Alhambra 9P Left-Handed Classical Guitar, along with the Alhambra 8P, are the best classical guitars available in their price ranges.  It is handmade in Spain and features very well-balanced projection of treble and bass strings and is also designed for comfort and optimal playability. This instrument is available in both spruce and cedar. (Click here to hear the pronunciation of "Alhambra".)

But richness is not the only thing:  The action is also just perfect: high enough to make the guitar sing but extremely comfortable. The sound projection is amazing. Basses, mediums and trebles are very well-balanced. You have a full control of the voices and can emphasize whatever voice you want without any struggle, therefore you become the conductor and have a complete orchestra under your fingers.

The Alhambra 9P features Alhambra's ErgoNeck. The ErgoNeck is the result of the continuous research developed by Alhambra Manufactures to improve the ergonomics of the neck. Thus, we can favor the position of the left hand. Due to its asymmetric shape, the ErgoNeck can be adapted in a more natural way to the guitarist.  (See illustration above.)

MEASUREMENTS

Recommended Strings: This guitar comes with D'Addario EXP44 Extra Hard Tension strings installed.  These are not bad strings, but don't allow the guitar to live up to its full potential.  I recommend the following strings for this guitar:

Carbon: My favorite strings of all I've tried are Savarez Alliance set 540J. These strings provide great volume and resonance.  Being Carbon, they are a bit thinner in diameter than nylon strings. The tone is brighter and not as mellow as nylon strings. If you want a softer sound, nylon may suit you better.

Nylon: For nylon strings, I really like Savarez Corum New Cristal set 500CJ. These strings provide a nice round tone, good volume, and a comfortable feel.

Alhambra 9P Left Handed

Discovering XGuitars and Geoffry was a true blessing. I was looking for a new upgraded classical guitar and found this wonderful site. The website is Lefty friendly and beautifully constructed. Well organized and very thorough, I'm still discovering enlightening parts. Not too mention the amazing photography. Geoff was very patient and helpful in my trying to decide on a new model guitar. As a Lefty, it's not often I have multiple models to choose from. XGuitars seems to have this covered. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and with XGuitars.
