Description

The all-solid Cordoba C12 Classical Guitar is one of Cordoba's most high-end and modern guitars.

Available with either a solid Canadian cedar or European spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides, the C12's lattice bracing and raised fingerboard are elements that make this model truly stand out from the rest. The delicately braced top provides rich tones with a lively presence and the raised fingerboard makes accessing upper frets a breeze. The C12 is a treasure to last a lifetime with stunning decorative elements such as its flamed maple center wedge on the back, matching maple binding, and hand-inlaid 1920s-inspired pearloid rosette. Comes inside a hardshell Cordoba humidified archtop case (weight: 9lbs, 3oz). (Click here to hear the pronunciation of "Córdoba".)

Long Overdue Purchase!

In December, 2023, I had a conversation with Geoff on my ride home from work. I knew instantly I had found the right place to purchase my new classical guitar.

Having waited years to find the right time and the right guitar, on December 20, 2023, I pulled the trigger on a Cordoba C12 in cedar as an early birthday present to myself.

As promised, the guitar arrived after the new year and when I opened the box, just seeing the quality of the hard shell case got my blood pressure up. But when I opened the case, I was speechless. The guitar was flawless!! Just as Geoff promises on his site.

The smell of that cedar top was amazing too. I had never held such a beautiful instrument - and I own some nice guitars.

And then I played it. OMG! The sound was out of this world. The clarity of the high notes. The nice depth of the lower strings. And the notes ring and ring and ring.

Having always purchased my guitars from a local national chain or retail store, I was worried that purchasing on line would leave me with a guitar that was totally destroyed in the shipping process. I was wrong. Matter of fact, this guitar was more pristine than any guitar I have ever purchased. Retail outlet guitars are handled and played by so many hands, they invariably already have scratches, and imperfections due to use and careless handling. My Cordoba didn’t have so much as a finger print!! And this guitar was set up right out of the box.

Anyone reading this review, please take my word for it and trust Geoff with your next guitar purchase. Tonight, I just got home from visiting a Guitar Centers and every guitar that I picked tonight looked used and handled poorly. It’s what prompted me to sit down and write this review.

Geoff, thank you for your advice and guidance in helping me on my first classical guitar purchase. You have no idea how grateful and happy I am!! I love my Cordoba C12.

Just received. Too early for more than stating I'm really pleased with sound and feel. Circle back in a year.

Geoff

The Cordoba C12 is a complete guitar, just the one I was looking for: Sufficient volume, well balanced between the highs and lows not to mention a good looking instrument. The guitar is not as lightweight as others guitars I have played; but, the instrument is very new and is expected to become lighter with time. Geoff from XGuitars is an experienced musician and well versed with classical guitars which is so important when buying an instrument, when the other person has not been familiarized. Thank you, Geoff!

Wonderful sound

The Cordoba C12 Cedar has a wonderfully powerful and round sound. I was glad to see the raised fingerboard is about 2mm higher than the C12 Spruce I bought a year ago. Concert level guitar for a great price.
